The church is meant to be a house of prayer as shown in Scripture (Isaiah 56:7, Matthew 23:13), so we spend time in prayer as a body during our weekly meetings.
We will filter what we do through God’s word, and teach it (2 Timothy 4:2). We will also be doers of the Word and not merely passive hearers (James 1:22) by putting God’s word into practice during our weekly meetings.
We will strive to equip God’s people to be overcomers and warriors. (Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Timothy 6:12, various in Revelations such as 2:26, 3:21, and many more.)
We will partner with Jesus on His mission to set captives free (Isaiah 61).
We will strive to be a safe church where people can share their sins and struggles, and work to keep the walls of isolation down.
Just as God frequently discussed the issues of the times that His people faced throughout Scripture, especially sexual issues, (Revelations 2 and 3, and many more), we will do the same, and strive to help our people be overcomers in these areas.
Blazing Grace Church is not meant for everyone, including those who wish to coddle their comfort zones, believe that church is only about sermons and praise, or hold to “the way we’ve always done church before.” We will focus on walking with broken people who want the life of a bold adventure in Christ, not on filling seats; depth, not numbers (John 6); and staying true to our core values.
